Learn to be open to what others have to offer without giving away your power to reason, discriminate and make your own decisions. You will also establish an intimate, nurturing relationship with your body. Each sensation becomes sacred and is responded to with tenderness and compassion. Kripalu is approached with an attitude of prayer. Your body becomes the temple in which you invoke the presence of the divine. YOGA OF TAO
This yoga class is open to all levels. In this class we will engage in both a Yang and Yin yoga practice. The Yang style focuses on the muscles of the body, whereas the Yin style works the connective tissue and joints of the body. The Yang style is more akin the traditional yoga practices of repeated rhythmic movements. The Yin practice uses stasis and traction, so poses are held for longer periods of time (3-5 minutes) and primarly work the lower back and hips. Yang is moving, Yin is still. Each style is challenging in different ways, but both address the areas of the body that need opening. You will walk easier and lighter following this class! Especially excellent for those who spend much of their day sitting. Classes will generally alternate each week between a full Yin practice and a combination Yang/Yin sequence.

CORE FUSION (speciality class)
A complete, comprehensive fusion of Yoga and Pilates; Core Flow is an ever-evolving method which stays abreast of the latest medical and scientific research for how the human body functions during movement. Establishing a foundation of knowledge within the mind and integrating it into the function of the body is the key. Core Flow stretches and strengthens all the major muscles groups in order to develop a streamlined slenderness. Particular attention is paid to building strength and endurance in the body’s core muscles of inner rhythm and expressiveness.

PRANAYAMA
This class is designed for the student who is interested in learning meditation and pranayama (yogic breathing ), with each class containing new and different techniques. We will begin with a few short warm ups to open and stretch the body, then move into pranayama. In each session, you'll learn different types of breathing techniques designed to relax and revitalize your body. Pranayama is the core link of all yogic practice (joining the mind, body, and spirit) and there are many different types. Because of this you'll learn different techniques designed to relax and revitalize your body.

YAMUNA BODY ROLLING (speciality class)
YBR offers you the tools to begin creating space and elongating muscles. Pain and tension dissolve as muscles surrender to the therapeutic effects. Stand taller, stretch further, go faster with greater ease. Unlock your natural potential. YBR targets specific muscle groups and includes a series of rolling movements bringing results you feel and see – in one session. A complete and balanced class designed to compliment your day. Previous yoga experience suggested.

GENTLE
Gentle practice for taking the true practice of yoga slow and gentle. Perfect for seniors, pre-natal, those with injuries or those wanting to take it slow.

MIX 1 BEGINNER
Focus on relaxation and reduction of stress. Introduction to many yoga postures incorporating a pace. Beginners and all other levels.

Mix 2 INTERMEDIATE
Designed to create heat and energy flow. Initiates the development of strength and flexibility. Perfect for all levels.

Mix 3 INTERMEDIATE/ADVANCED
An Intermediate/Advanced blend of poses influenced by various yoga styles. Previous yoga experience suggested.

TEEN CLASS
In response to our fast-paced, often stress-inducing culture, we offer a gentle, non-competitive yoga class specifically for teens. Through this well-rounded, calming yoga practice, teens will safely explore ways to practice breathing & relaxation techniques as a healthy way of coping with stress, improve focus, develop flexibility through postures, increase core strength, build self-esteem and improve body image. The class is designed for teens age 12-18, a time when these issues are of paramount importance and youth are beginning to make important lifestyles choices. These yoga practices will serve them continually for years ahead.

FAMILY CLASS
Come share the experience!! Parents and their children welcom!!! This class will provide students with a firm foundation of yoga postures and how they open each part of the body. While we may focus in one area for that week, we will still move through earth/grounding poses, water/balance poses, fire/creativity poses, air/reflection poses, and ether/resting poses to ensure a full body experience in each class. Breathwork, meditation, and an understanding of the roots and traditions of yoga will also be explored.

The classes are designed to increase body awareness and image, calm and balance emotions through breathwork; improve focus and concentration skills; enhance coordination, flexibility and balance; boost self-esteem; teach the children to look within for strength; and build social skills.
